The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer and executive leadership team to strengthen global HR capability, improve talent processes, and support the organisation’s continued growth across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and implement the global talent management strategy, frameworks, and processes across the organisation.
  • Design and deliver leadership development programmes, including the definition of leadership competencies for senior and emerging leaders.
  • Lead the improvement of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance alignment, performance culture, development planning, and links to rewards.
  • Develop and implement high-potential talent programmes, talent-sharing processes, and structured development pathways.
  • Design and embed succession planning processes for senior leadership and critical roles, ensuring alignment with core competencies and future business needs.
  • Review talent acquisition processes and effectiveness, identifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and strategic impact.
  • Partner closely with the CHRO, executive leadership team, HR business partners, and regional leaders to drive talent initiatives across a global business.
  • Upgrade existing HR and talent processes from transactional practices to more strategic, scalable, and data-led frameworks.
  • Lead complex HR and talent transformation projects across multiple geographies, functions, and stakeholder groups.
  • Define success measures for talent initiatives and track impact through relevant metrics, feedback, adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice on talent, leadership, succession, and organisational capability.
  • Support broader HR effectiveness and transformation initiatives as the role develops.
  • Promote a performance-led, values-driven culture across the business.
  • Travel to key international offices as required to support implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in HR, talent management, leadership development, organisational development, or HR transformation.
  • Strong HR generalist background with proven experience improving and implementing talent processes.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, leading, or improving leadership development programmes, ideally across senior leadership and emerging leader populations.
  • Proven experience working on performance management frameworks, including goal setting, performance calibration, development planning, performance culture, and links to reward.
  • Strong experience designing or improving succession planning processes for senior leadership, critical roles, or key talent populations.
  • Experience building, implementing, or running high-potential talent programmes, talent-sharing initiatives, or structured talent development pathways.
  • Proven ability to lead larger HR or talent transformation projects, including process redesign, stakeholder engagement, change management, implementation, and measurement of impact.
  • Ability to demonstrate how talent programmes have improved business outcomes, leadership capability, succession strength, employee development, or organisational effectiveness.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, multinational organisation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across a multicultural and international environment.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to provide practical HR and talent solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • High levels of integrity, judgement, curiosity, and professionalism.
  • Experience in ship management, maritime services, shipping, logistics, transportation, industrials, or other complex operational sectors would be highly advantageous.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a strategic yet hands-on talent leader who can build structure, process, and capability across a global organisation. They should have direct experience designing and implementing leadership development programmes, improving performance management, building succession planning frameworks, and developing high-potential or talent-sharing programmes.

They should also be able to show clear examples of HR or talent transformation projects they have led, including what changed, how stakeholders were engaged, and how success was measured.
