Our client is a leading holding group seeking a Financial Analyst to join its growing Mergers & Acquisitions team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to work closely with senior leadership on investment analysis, financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and transaction execution.

The successful candidate will support the identification, evaluation, and execution of new investment and acquisition opportunities across the group’s target sectors. This role will involve preparing financial models, investment memos, market research, valuation analysis, and transaction materials to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and qualify potential investment and acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation, forecasting, scenario analysis, and investment decision-making.
  • Conduct valuation analysis using relevant methodologies, including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Support M&A transaction execution, including due diligence coordination, deal analysis, valuation, and preparation of transaction materials.
  • Prepare clear and concise investment memos, presentations, and reports for senior management and the investment committee.
  • Conduct market research, industry analysis, competitor benchmarking, and sector mapping to support investment theses.
  • Analyse the commercial and financial drivers of target companies through desktop research, data analysis, and management discussions.
  • Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of M&A and investment opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes across target sectors.
  • Support business development and investment review meetings through regular presentations, analysis, and opportunity updates.
  • Work closely with internal departments, external advisors, and stakeholders throughout the investment evaluation and execution process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A, transaction services, corporate finance, private equity, consulting, or a similar investment-focused role.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build financial forecasts, valuation models, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, cash flow analysis, and investment evaluation.
  • Experience preparing investment memos, board presentations, pitch decks, or transaction-related materials.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to assess markets, industries, competitors, and company performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commercial judgement.
  • CFA qualification or progress toward CFA would be an advantage.
